The GTN will anúnciate this, but it is usually outside of the field of view required. Adding an annunciator/switch is probably more expensive than you want to mess with.

I had a larger flash drive (32 or 64 GB) and erased the existing partition and created a 256mb fat32 partition and it worked like a champ. I tried all sorts of different configurations before I found a solution that worked. I have windows. Can't help ya if you're iOS.

The KI209 indicator was powered by the KX155 which has a "Switched Power Output" on its pin 12, to pin 8 of the KI209. The GNC255 does not have a similar power output to drive the indicator. The indicator power draw is minimal - 50mA.

WEBNov 4, 2015 · Good stuff. I noticed the GNC255 gives you what looks to be full DME info (distance to station, bearing to station, time to station, etc) - pretty cool. Unfortunately, there is no Supplemental AFM that makes it legal to use as a DME - at least from what I can find. I believe the SL30 has the ability to be used as DME.

The KX-155A was designed to peacefully co-exist with GPS, but it is 28V only. SL30 is highly regarded, and would be my choice. I'm sure the GNC255 would be just as great.
