No that's wrong, I don't think they should despawn at all, they probably glitch into blocks and suffocate or something.

WEBFeb 13, 2018 · Think about it. Wolves are your standard battle/hunting companion. Horses (and donkeys and mules) can be used for transport. Llamas can be used for mass item transport. Cats, while a pain in the butt to tame, are mostly decorative, but even they have the purpose of scaring off creepers. Parrots do next to nothing.

WEBMay 26, 2017 · I collected a whole bunch of parrots before the mob cap was adjusted and I periodically go back for more. one thing I like is that they hover around other mobs, there were a few times I noticed a clump of them off in the distance and upon investigation, turns out a creeper or similar was lurking about and the parrots had mobbed it like when crows harass predators on the ground.

WEBJul 20, 2019 · Hi. Jungle biome is far from my spawn point. I collected tropical wood, cacao beans and made friendship with couple of parrots. When I travel on foot - parrots are following me, and sometimes teleporting to my position. But when I use boat, they never teleport to my position during travel and after I left the boat.

Once I had a bunch of parrots, I rowed out of the jungle down the river, across to where I parked my horse; rode back to the village, then attached leads to the birds and took a minecart the rest of the way home.

In any case, take good care of them once you get them home. I had one of every color and let them fly around my base and all but one got itself killed.

WEBOct 2, 2017 · Parrots will spawn in old jungles generated prior to 1.12, you'll just have to make sure the area is lit up enough, there's enough free grass blocks, and there's not too many passive mobs around. If there's more than ten passive mobs in loaded chunks, more won't spawn. See this article for more information!

WEBAug 1, 2017 · If I set my spawn at my house and then walk 10,000 or more blocks to a jungle, tame some cats and parrots, and then die at the jungle, thus returning to my set spawn point at my house 10k blocks away, will my newly tamed pets teleport to me and join me at my house, provided I made sure they weren't "sitting" before I died?
