WEBFeb 6, 2023 · It used to "dig in" a little and throw a lot of snow but now it stops with only a little powder. The auger runs normally until it meets resistance. It has worked well all winter until this last snowfall which had partially melted, leaving a very heavy, moist snow. It "stalled" a few times and then I shoveled the rest.

It seems the thermal protection shuts it off by just blowing a few inches of normal snow for less than 5 minutes. I have thought of bypassing the thermal device but then I risk burning out the motor.

WEBDec 24, 2022 · Procedure: Unscrew the plastic cover on the backside of the battery compartment. Remove the screw holding the key wires and pull them down and through so they are in back by the electronics. Cut the tips off, strip back the wire. Solder or use a crimp connector to connect the two wires, and heat shrink it.

After an initial cranking noise for about 1 second, the machine fell dead. I tried several times. Nothing happens. I know how to operate the starter switch because I have a similar safety switch on my lawn mower.

It turned out that the original battery was just fine, and neither one would fire up the blower. Both batteries measured at 41.7V.
