The iPhone 15 Pro increased the base shooting resolution to 24MP while the standard iPhone 15 gained the 48MP primary sensor. However, last year, Apple took things up another notch by bringing a 48MP sensor to the ultrawide camera on the iPhone 16 Pro, leaving the telephoto as the only lens that’s still 12MP.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will both benefit from 48-megapixel sensors for all cameras on the rear, according to one prolific leaker.

Both iPhone 17 Pro models will reportedly ditch the 12MP front and telephoto cameras in favor of 24 and 48MP ones.
