GILES COUNTY, Va. – Giles County has announced a boil water notice for some of its residents. This boil water notice currently impacts a select number of residents in Giles County. Those in the following areas are advised to boil their water:

Thousands of people in Orange County are impacted by a water main break. A Channel 9 crew spotted water flowing into the streets in the Old Cheney Highway area Wednesday night. The water main break happened near South Tanner Road in east Orange County.

Currently, everyone who gets their water from the New River Valley Regional Water Authority is on a boil water notice.That affects all of Montgomery County, Christiansburg, Blacksburg and all of of Virginia Tech.

Montgomery County and the New River Valley Regional Water Authority say the process to flush and clean the system of potentially contaminated water will continue through the weekend of October 12-13,
