The National Hurricane Center said Wednesday it is tracking a system in the Caribbean that could soon strengthen into Hurricane Sara.

The National Hurricane Center said Potential Tropical Cyclone 18 is expected to become a tropical depression or storm on Monday.

A storm system, which will earn the name “Sara,” is expected to form soon in the Caribbean, and could affect the United States down the road. It’s too early to know where exactly the storm will go once it forms and what areas will be affected — particularly because the system has no established center of circulation yet.
