Two Larkin High School students who allegedly made unfounded threats against the Elgin school via social media have been arrested on felony charges, Elgin police said.

Classes for students in Joliet District 86 will be moved to e-learning and all school buildings will be closed.

Two girls were arrested for making threats toward Joliet area schools on social media. The Joliet Police Department said detectives began investigating threats of harm made toward Joliet area schools on social media.

Galt police said they arrested a 15-year-old in connection with online threats against area high schools. The teen boy was booked into County Juvenile Hall.

All schools in the Brillion district are closed Wednesday. Brillion police say a threat was made online. No further details on the threat were released. The police department says it's working with the sheriff's department to determine the credibility of the threat.

A third arrest has been made in connection to recent social media threats directed at schools in Joliet, with police arresting a 12-year-old for felony disorderly conduct involving transmitting a threat of destruction of school property or violence,
