Mark Scheifele had his ninth career hat trick, Morgan Barron added two empty-net goals and the Winnipeg Jets beat the Florida Panthers 6-3 to end a two-game skid

WINNIPEG -- Mark Scheifele scored a hat trick for the Winnipeg Jets in a 6-3 win against the Florida Panthers at Canada Life Centre on Tuesday.

Mark Scheifele scored in each period for his ninth career hat trick and the host Winnipeg Jets beat the Florida Panthers 6-3 on Tuesday night. Three days after Winnipeg lost 5-0 at Florida to suffer back-to-back losses for the first time this season,

The teams finished with identical 52-24-6 records last season, but while the Jets face criticism the Panthers don't.

First it was Kyle Connor jumping on a loose puck in Florida’s zone and beating Sergei Bobrovsky with a backhand over his glove, and then just over three minutes later, Mark Scheifele wired a wrist shot under Bob’s glove and over his pad from the right faceoff dot.

With Winnipeg coming off its first losing streak of the season (two games) the Jets faced off against the very familiar Florida Panthers - a team that had whipped Winnipeg 5-0 just three nights prior.

Matthew Tkachuk had a goal and assist for the Stanley Cup-champion Panthers and A.J. Greer and Sam Reinhart also scored. Sergei Bobrovsky made 21 saves in the loss.
