EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate has closed a deal with Sydney Sweeney and is in final negotiations with Amanda Seyfried to star in the Hidden Pictures thriller The Housemaid, with the studio also tapping Paul Feig to direct.

Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are getting ready to team up for an adaptation of The Housemaid from director Paul Feig. Lionsgate is behind the project, having closed a deal with Sweeney and in final negotiations with Seyfried. Feig will helm from Rebecca Sonnenshine’s script, which is based on author Freida McFadden’s best-selling novel.

Sweeney, 27, will play Millie, who, according to an official logline, is a "struggling young woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Seyfried, 38) and Andrew, an upscale, wealthy couple… but soon learns that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own."
