Manchester Originals become the second Hundred franchise to partner with an Indian Premier League team after Lancashire agree a deal with Lucknow Super Giants.

Indian billionaire Sanjiv Goenka purchases ECB’s 49 per cent share and 21 per cent of Lancashire’s for around £75m

Sanjiv Goenka, the Kolkata-based business tycoon and owner of Lucknow Super Giants and Durban Super Giants, has acquired the Manchester Originals franchise in The Hundred tournament. As per Cricbuzz, the deal was finalized at a price just over £100 million, £107 million to be precise.

According to reports, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka is also in talks to buy further stakes in the team from Lancashire which currently holds the remaining 51%.

Sanjiv Goenka's RPSG Group already owns Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League and Durban Super Giants in the SA20. The Group has now secured stakes in Hundred franchise Manchester Originals.

RPSG Group, owned by Sanjiv Goenka and IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants' owner, is set to acquire a 70% stake in Manchester Originals for £107 million. This move follows RPSG's recent unsuccessful bid for London Spirit and marks an expansion for RPSG in English cricket.

Sanjiv Goenka, the Kolkata-based owner of Lucknow Super Giants and Durban Super Giants, and the head of RPSG Group, has landed the Manchester Originals franchise in The Hundred tournament. The Lancashire-based franchise were led by Phil Salt, in the absence of regular national skipper Jos Buttler, last season of the 100-ball competition.
