A wildfire that erupted on Sunday in Bastrop County has been mostly contained following heavy overnight rainfall and a sustained emergency response, officials with the Texas A&M Forest Service said Tuesday. As of 10 a.m., 80% of the so-called Hudson Wildfire was contained.

BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — An “extremely active” wildfire in Bastrop County is causing mandatory evacuations Sunday, according to county officials. The Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management said the Hudston Fire is south of Park Road 1C. This is between Bastrop State Park and Buescher State Park.

The Hudson Fire continues to burn in Bastrop County. The wildfire has burned about 400 acres and officials now know the cause.

AUSTIN, Texas — Many people were forced to evacuate their homes as crews work to contain a 400-acre wildfire that started in Bastrop County Sunday afternoon.
