Retail gasoline prices tumbled a further 13.18 cents in the past three weeks, to $3.3004 per gallon, according to the most recent Lundberg Survey of U.S. fuel markets. They have been in decline for nine weeks, a total drop of 31 cents.

U.S. motorists should see gasoline prices fall below $3 a gallon for the first time in over three years as soon as next month, shortly before they go to vote in November's presidential election, analysts said this week.

The price drop is not just in Chicago. GasBuddy reported the national average has fallen 6.9 cents per gallon in the last week.

The Tennessee state gas price average is now in its fourth week of decline, falling eight cents over last week.

Gas prices are expected to stay under $3 per gallon, on average, through the end of 2024. They could drop another 10 to 25 cents this fall.

Last week, the U.S. price of crude oil slipped to $65.75 per barrel, the lowest it's been since December 2021.

The state pump price is the same as this time last week, at $3.25 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, AAA- The Auto Club Group announced Monday. The price is 27 cents less than a month ago and 47 cents under this time in 2023,

ATLANTA - Georgia drivers will get some good news if they're filling up at the gas pump for the new week. According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline around the Peach State on Monday is about $2.

Michigan gas prices remained $3.25 a gallon Sunday, the same price, on average, it was a week ago, but it is expected to drop as refineries switch to winter-blend gasoline, which tends to cost less. Some metro Detroit stations on Sunday already were selling gas below $3 a gallon.
