Texas Department of Public Safety officials are reminding drivers to educate themselves on child passenger safety practices.

The California Highway Patrol is dedicating Sept. 15-21 to promoting child passenger safety across California, focusing on the protection of the state’s youngest road users.

For Child Passenger Safety Week, which runs Sept. 15-20, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reminded drivers to educate themselves on the best child safety seat practices to keep child passengers safe on the road.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is partnering with local communities for Child Passenger Safety Week, running from Sept.15 through Sept.21.

This past Sunday was the first day of Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Week, and one local group is hosting a car seat safety event to mark the occasion.

The Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Public Safety are reminding drivers to educate themselves on the best child safety seat practices during National Child Passenger Safety Week which runs Sept.

The week emphasizes ensuring that every child is properly secured for every trip, in the right car seat, and facing the correct direction based on their age, weight, and height.

In honor of National Child Passenger Safety Week numerous departments are giving tips on how to keep your child safe in your vehicle. Under the Virginia State Law, any child under the age of 2 must be in a rear-facing car seat unless they meet the height and weight guidelines on
