Three days after a luxury cruise ship set sail from Belfast after being stranded in the city for more than four months and hopes are high it will finally leave Northern Ireland tonight. The Villa Vie Odyssey left Belfast port on Monday night amid applause and cheers from its dozens of passengers.

The former Fred. Olsen Cruise ship was hampered by yet another delay as it dropped anchor just outside port at around 11:30 p.m. on Monday due to outstanding “paperwork.”

The Villa Vie Odyssey had been scheduled to leave Belfast in May for a three-year, round-the-world cruise but was delayed due to unexpected repairs. It eventually set sail from Belfast Harbour on Monday night but only travelled a few miles before dropping anchor in Belfast Lough.
