An airplane safely made an emergency landing at Orange Airport Sunday morning amidst unexpected landing gear troubles.

The pilot successfully landed the plane on grass, where the aircraft skidded to a stop, officials said. No injuries or fuel leakage were reported, and the aircraft suffered only minimal damage

Orange Emergency Services said that at approximately 9:34 a.m. at the Shelburne Control Dispatch Center, operators received a call from Fitchburg Airport. The report stated that an incoming plane from the Fitchburg Airport was having problems with its landing gear and would be landing in Orange.

With firefighters and medical workers standing by, a small plane with land-gear troubles made an emergency landing at Orange Municipal Airport Sunday morning. There were no reported injures. The pilot touched down on a grassy area and skidded to a stop.

Orange Fire Department dispatchers were notified by officials at Fitchburg Airport that an incoming plane with landing gear problems would be landing at Orange Airport.
