President Donald Trump said Tuesday night he had asked Elon Musk's SpaceX to return two NASA astronauts from the International Space Station, who were already scheduled to fly back on a SpaceX capsule in March.

Billionaire Elon Musk vowed Tuesday to bring home the two astronauts who have been stuck in space for about eight months “as soon as possible” – and blasted the Biden White House for not retrieving them sooner.

Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore launched aboard Boeing's new Starliner capsule in June for a week-long test flight. However, technical issues with the spacecraft led to an extended stay at the International Space Station (ISS), leaving the astronauts stranded in space.
