The PGA Tour made it official Friday that the Genesis Invitational will be played at Torrey Pines. Last week, the Tour announced that the Genesis would be moved from Riviera Country Club due to the wildfires that have devastated the Los Angeles area.

The tournament is relocating from its usual venue at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades due to ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

It’s official: The PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational will move to Torrey Pines Golf Course. The tournament at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, hosted by golf icon Tiger Woods, was displaced because of the devastating fires in Pacific Palisades.

The PGA Tour announced on Friday that the Genesis Invitational will be moved from the Riviera Country Club to Torrey Pines on Feb. 13-16.

As of Friday, Gorsich was doing anything he could support the Genesis Invitational while also overseeing his own tour event with 75 golfers playing into Saturday’s final round, toward an overall purse of $9 million and a winner’s check of $1.67 million.

It's the Farmers Insurance Open now. It was the San Diego open in 1967, Andy Williams San Diego Open in 1978 and Shearson Lehman in 1990.
