January 9 - Former Miami and Wisconsin quarterback Tyler Van Dyke has decided to continue his football career at SMU. Van Dyke started for the Hurricanes from 2021-23 before transferring to Wisconsin.

This season, Van Dyke passed for 422 yards and one touchdown without being intercepted in 68 pass attempts. Preston Stone, SMU's backup in 2024, recently transferred to Northwestern.
