Bastrop County wildfire now 80% contained
A wildfire that erupted on Sunday in Bastrop County has been mostly contained following heavy overnight rainfall and a sustained emergency response, officials with the Texas A&M Forest Service said Tuesday. As of 10 a.m., 80% of the so-called Hudson Wildfire was contained.
Some evacuations lifted as crews work to contain massive wildfire in Bastrop County
AUSTIN, Texas — Many people were forced to evacuate their homes as crews work to contain a 400-acre wildfire that started in Bastrop County Sunday afternoon. According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, the wildfire – named the Hudson Fire – began just after noon, eight miles east of Bastrop city limits and north of State Highway 71.
