There have been unconfirmed reports that a Russian aircraft or drone has been shot down over Ukraine's Donetsk region on Saturday, possibly in a friendly fire incident. According to the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper the Russian aircraft had been launching guided aerial bombs at Ukrainian positions and was shot down its own troops on the ground.

The Russian bomber was shot down near the city of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk province, head of the Kostiantynivka Military Administration Serhiy Horbunov was quoted as saying by Ukraine’s public broadcaster,

Twelve people were injured in Ukraine when a Russian glide bomb struck an apartment building in its second-largest city of Kharkiv on Wednesday night, according to local officials. Russia has ramped up its use of the destructive Soviet-era munitions as it advances further into Ukraine.

Ukrainian forces said they shot down a Russian fighter plane on Saturday while Russia claimed it made gains in Ukraine’s east.
