ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A middle school student from Tyrone Middle School was shot on a school bus, St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating. According to officers, a middle school student was shot on the bus at 18th Avenue North and 49th Street North on Tuesday morning.

A 13-year-old girl was shot on a school bus in St. Petersburg; she was the only one with a gun among 20 students. Her condition is stable.

Six students were taken to an area hospital after five school buses and a truck pulling a band trailer were involved in a collision Tuesday afternoon on I-10, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
